Hi all,

I just wanted to share what I experienced last night when doing my meditation and then self healing and to ask if you what you think (as some of you already know, I'm pretty new to meditating).

I went into my Gassho Med, felt very relaxed. One minute I was 'here', the next I was 'away'. I had random images flash into my head, images I have no clue about, eg, I watched two females happily run along a street, I saw an old fashioned chain wrapped round something with a large medallion type bit dangling from it, I watched a couple (male and female) sitting at a table talking - at the time I knew what they were talking about but can't remember now. Then, this bit freaked me out, out of nowhere I saw someone's head bowed down. They then lifted their head and looked straight at me - it was an old man with quite a stern looking face and sharp features (Archangel, he reminded me of the man you described). I got a fright and pulled myself right out of it. I think I got a fright because he looked right at me and I wasn't expecting it. Anyway, I then asked spirit for protection and, at this moment, my hands got very hot instantly and the tingling sensation was very strong! I then went on to do my Reiki self healing. As I said, I was freaked and couldn't get back into it for a while after this. However, I did drift off when I was at my sacral. I saw a big bunch of yellow flowers slightly in the distance - they looked lovely with long stalks and yellow petals all the way down the stalks. They came towards me and spun round so I could see properly. Then I forgot where I was - I thought I was in my kitchen, however, I was really in my livingroom. Then, I saw the face of a clock appear. At first I thought it said Ten to Twelve but then realised it said 10 o'clock. I have no clock in my livingroom and had no clue what the time was. I then finished my healing and went through to the kitchen (where the clock is) and it said it was 10.05 pm.

I'm quite excited by it all as this is the most I've ever seen, however, the man's face freaked me a bit, as I've said. What should I do next time? I've seen the odd face before (always people I don't know) and because I'm not expecting it, I always pull myself out. Also, could I have been drifting off to sleep and dreaming? I don't normally dream about things like that mind you.

Well done Elle sounds like things are really getting interesting for you and boy what a for you !

Please don't doubt what you saw - as beginners we all think that we were probably dreaming or imagining what we see. I know i did !! Have more confidence in what you 'see'. Some of it will make sense some won't. I do feel that the gentleman you describe was who I saw with you in our distance together although i didnt see his face close up - it was more a 'feeling' that he had chiselled features but looked like a 'Gandalf' type figure. Please dont feel threatened by his abrupt appearance. It is an intinctive reaction, you were not prepared to be shown so abruptly so you pulled away from things - its normal - its our way of protecting ourselves. It may be that you are not comfortable with how quickly he appeared - if so ask you guide to be subtler in his approach.

Please also make sure that you are ready for this next step - if you dont feel ready then dont do it. However, if you feel ready but that it is just you weren't expecting it right then then the next time it happens it wont be as alien and you will be able to handle it that much better.

Archangel, you haven't rambled at all m'dear! Full of good advice as per usual! Thanks for the reply.

I think I am ready to meet my guide but, as you said, that approach was too abrupt for me. I will ask him next time to be a bit more subtle. The only other thing I'm worrying about is..... was it my guide or some random??? It's the randoms that I'm not ready for, that scares me a bit as I know I'm not experienced for that.

Re the yellow flowers I seen.... I told my mum all about my meditation last night when I picked Joe up after work. As soon as I mentioned the flowers, all she thought of was my brother. She's seemingly been looking for some really nice yellow flowers to put down at the tree where he crashed and has been wanting yellow flowers for a while. I didn't know anything about this! Wow!

I do feel that this is one of your guides but what do you feel ?
The randoms as you call them shouldnt really be any different to your guides in the way you experience them. so long as you are grounded and protected before meditating you should be fine - I am assuming that you are worried about whether these randoms would be harmful in some way ? You will find that other spirits will pop in now and again - they may be for you or someone else but they should all materialise in love and the willingness to bridge the divide so please dont be scared. If you feel scared at anytime call on your guides to protect you. they will always hear you

Well, I honestly don't know. It all happened that quick. I just assumed he was a guide or the other old man you talked about, the one you thought was a grandfather figure who looks in on me now and again.

As for the randoms, it's probably just me being scared of the unknown. So long as I'm grounded and protect myself, no harm can come to me?

Just another wee question.... what can happen if you don't ground and protect yourself?

Wow, well done you, what a fab first med, even if it did unnerve you slightly.

As far as Guides go, I beleive that if it was your Guide you would "just know" this. Because we are connected so closely with our guides we just "know" it is them because it feels right.

I've never met my Guide in a meditation, I've met them through doing Shamanic Journeys and also through someone else (thanks Rachi) finding them for me. But the "seeing them through meds" never.

THe "yellow flowers" is amazing, I'm sure that experience has left you speechless.

This gentleman is very gentle and very patient. He is a guide, his name is Merrin. He didn't actually mean to startle you, and knows it is not time for a formal introduction as you aren't quite ready to "see" him, so he has taken a step back again. From what I can tell, he didn't really mean for you to see him yet, hence your reaction, but know that he does keep a protective eye on you during meditation and development work. I also feel he was so close because you hadn't protected fully before the medi, and so he stepped that bit closer to keep you safe, hence your unintentional glimpsing of him.

You are lucky to have such a gentle and wise one looking after you Elle, his energies are very peaceful and calm, so don't be afraid if you do glimpse him, as he is around you in love and light, with the highest intentions for your safety in spiritual development.

You'll meet properly one day when you are ready!

I've caught guides and angels out when I've not been meant to see them, they come closer when I'm poorly and I've seen them when they thought I couldn't, I've even heard one of them gasp in surprise that he'd been spotted before he disappeared!

So no need to worry, Merrin is a good guy, I'm told he was your grandfather in a previous lifetime, hence such a close bond.

WOW!!!! Ra-chi - thank you very much for that! I actually feel a bit emotional after reading your post (not in floods of tears or anything, but I can feel tears welling up in my eyes slightly).

Merrin.... wonder where that name comes from? I'm glad I know his name now though.

I think I'll need to read more on grounding and protecting. I do visualise the roots and the bubble of light for protection, however, I do always wonder if I've done it properly.
