Meditation is basically a form of relaxation to put it bluntly. There are a number of ways to do meditation and it is down to you to find which one works for you. some people like going on long walks by the sea or wooded areas for example. some people like to sit quietly in their gardens and just 'be'. I personally take myself off to a quiet place in my home (mainly the bathroom !) and just close my eyes and see what spirit brings me.

Ra-chi's website holds good meditations if you wanted to give her a look or if it helps I can send you a beginners one which seems to work well with people new to meditation.
i assume your mum does not know much about the complementary therapy field ? And am I right in thinking you are under 16 ? Whilst learning to meditate should be okay for you I would point out that should you want healing at any time technically you will need permission from your mum before healing takes place.
