Hi FreeSpirit

How exciting - I have always wanted a tipi / yurt as a moonlodge. One day it will happen.....

My daughter attends a Steiner school, and as a project they made a tipi from scratch - how cool is that; it was used for storytelling.

Here's a link that might interest you. There is lots of info online about making this sort of thing.
Can I ask what you want it for?

Just found another site that looks more straighforward:

i want it 2 get intouch with nature and also to be able to mediate in and use it for holistic practises. Me have a large garden and i love nature and i thought there was no better place, but i wanted somewhere under cover but nothing that would harm nature if u see what a mean and a though a tipi would be the best thing.

so wot do u rekon wana have a go with me

Don't worry about it- I think there are at least three ways to spell the word - no right and wrong.

I love the idea. Unfortuantely, this is a project for *next* summer (2006) for me.
This is the year of the house; next year will be more on the garden - so you'll have a long wait!!
Can't wait to hear how you get on!

Well FreeSpirit; I resonate with your name of FreeSpirit, as I am one myself. But much of my earthly learnings are in the form of focusing on one thing rather than spreading myself too thinly.
I'm still working on it, my nature is to have many things on the go at once and to do none of them well. As I mature in earth years, I'm working at changing this and reaping the rewards of a job well done hug.gif

Peace and love

I fancy having a go however our garden is not huge so mine would need to be on a parent and child scale. Theres no way its going to be a child only size, i refuse to miss out on the fun.

We are in the last stages of sorting our house so a project for the garden would be fun. I may not have a great deal of free time in the next week to converse and read up on the topic but after that i will focus.

[color=blue] what is a "Yurt"?

They originate in Mongolia and are circular, as opposed to Tipi shaped. They are supported by a trellis work, rather than poles and the traditional name for them if Ger - Yurt is a westernised word.

Would you like to visit my daughter in her dreamtime tonight and tell her that Fruity? I'd be most grateful biggrin.gif

I have not forgotten about our ventures. Things in the house should be coming to a close in the next two weeks and then we can hopefully put our heads together on the tee pee plans.

Its strange i am so drawn to being outside (hence the veg growing plans too )

I made this Lavvu/Tipi from some canvas someone gave me, they button together to make several different tents , got the poles from the woods.
Its nothing fancy but it was free sadangel.gif

Try putting in Tipi / Lavvu / Yurt / in a search engine you should come upwith loads of info.

I have a copy of this book
